Does increasing the rating for investigations actually matter?

just wondering if it does actually increase the chance of getting better loot in the chests after each objective? sometimes my rating breaks and doesn't go up anymore even though im killing the spawned in cursed spirits every minute, it gets to high B ranks and then doesn't go up after that.

From what I know: It limits until you beat the current "Task"

Sometimes like 1 out of 10 investigations gives you a legendary or special grade
